GOOD EATING AND BASKETBALL TOO AT BANNERS KITCHEN AND TAP

I arrived in Boston on Wednesday, November 23rd, the day before Thanksgiving.

The Boston Celtics were playing the Dallas Mavericks that evening at TD Gardens, formally Boston Gardens.

I didn’t have a ticket, but being the Sports Diva that I am, I want to be where the action is, especially since the Celtics are my favorite basketball team.

So putting on my best Celtics outfit, I left the hostel and headed down to the arena.

I wanted to watch the game with other Celtics fans, but first a stop in the Boston pro sports shop where I couldn’t decide if I wanted a hat, a jersey, or something else.

I decided to get a Celtics pin with the name and number of my favorite Celtics player.

The game was almost on so I needed to get something to eat.

I saw Banners Kitchen and Tap, which is located right in the plaza of TD Gardens, at 89 Causeway Street.

When I went inside, the hostess asked if I had a reservation.

I didn’t, so she asked if I wanted to sit at the bar.

Oh yeah, food, booze AND a humongous screen tv that showed the game,( which the Celtics won by the way.)the Sports Diva was in her element.

I had never eaten here before and boy am I missing out.

I ordered a Samuel Adams beer on tap and a pound of Buffalo Bourbon Chicken Wings, which were really delicious AND finger licking good, and I didn’t even need Blue Cheese or Ranch dressing to dip my chicken in, the sauce was good enough for dipping.

The bartenders were so friendly and helpful, even my server was friendly.

Banners is not as expensive as I thought it would be being as close to the arena as it is.

For two beers, nine dollars each and Buffalo Chicken Wings, which were $14, plus tip, I paid less than $50.

When I went back to the hostel after the game was over, I was full.

It looks like I have another restaurant to add to my list of restaurants to eat at on a 30 Plus Teams Tour, Banners Kitchen and Tap, Boston.

TURKEY DAY IN THE 617

First of all, let me say Happy Thanksgiving to those of you here in the United States, don’t eat and drink too much.

Yeah, right. Have that ham, turkey and stuffing, Mac and cheese, along with some Egg Nog or Coquito, like my family is going to have.

Now you know being the Sports Diva and her family, there’s going to be heaping helpings of football in there too, starting at noon and lasting into the evening no matter if the teams that are playing stink or not.

The New England Patriots are playing so the fam and I are going to be glued to the TV.

My 30 Plus Teams Tour started out Wednesday morning at around 7:15 am, where I caught an earlier Long Island Railroad train to Penn Station.

It was supposed to stop at Woodside before it got to Penn Station, but because of a broken rail it didn’t.

The train tracks are old in New York City and besides, Amtrak and the Long Island Railroad share the same track.

After getting to Penn Station, I had more than enough time to meet my bus which was going to the 617, Beantown, my home away from home and my getaway place, Boston, Massachusetts.

I’m going to be here until Saturday, November 26, and the Sports Diva can’t wait to show you how my 30 Plus Teams Tour of Boston is coming along.

Stay tuned my peeps!

GOING HOME HELLO BOSTON

Here’s the answer to the question, where is the Sports Diva’s next 30 Plus Teams Tour?

What city is she going to ?

The answer is a place that was my home for 13 years and a place that I always escape to whenever I want to leave the stupidity that is New York City .

It’s the home of three of my favorite sports teams , the Bruins , Celtics and Patriots .

It’s also known as ” Beantown ” or just, ‘The Bean’.

It’s Boston , Massachusetts and God willing , I will be there for 3 or 4 days .

Since this is a 30 Plus Teams Tour , there will be a least one sporting event or more that I will be attending .

It’s the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox at one of the oldest baseball parks in the country , Fenway Park and as usual , I’m bringing my readers with me .

Enjoy this 30 Plus Teams Tour of my home , Boston .

WHAT TO WEAR TO A HOCKEY  GAME

Another 30 Plus Teams  Tour  of New York  City  /New Jersey  is about to happen .

Again I’m  off to  Prudential  Center  in Newark, New Jersey  to see the New Jersey  Devils  and Boston  Bruins  play, and yes, I’m  going to  take the PATH  train .

What do you wear when your 30 Plus  Teams  Tour  of a city includes a hockey game ?

If you really  aren’t  a fan of either team, you can go with the team  colors.

In the case of the Devils ,  it’s  black, red, and white.

However ,  just because  it’s  a hockey  game ,  don’t  do what happens  to  be  a  major pet peeve of way too many hockey fans, including  me.

Don’t  put on a jersey of a team that isn’t  even playing .

It might be a hockey game you’re  going to but don’t  bust out a New York  Rangers  or a Pittsburgh  Penguins  hockey jersey unless those teams are playing .

Stay in your lane.

Know what teams you’re  going to  see.

If you decide  to  go with the “it’s a hockey game ,   so I’m  going to wear a hockey jersey  no matter what team it is” thingy, be ready for some side glances not only from the home team fans, but from the visiting fans too.

Hockey fans are very passionate and will definitely  make comments about the swag you have on.

Also ,  please  don’t  show up in a football  or basketball  jersey to a hockey game.

Really, don’t  take it there.

Once again ,  know  the sport that you’re  going  to  see.

If you have to, buy a hat from the city that you’re  in.

Wear that Atlantic City  hat proudly if you’re  in New Jersey .

Better yet , don’t  wear any team stuff or their colors  at all.

Just go to the game and take in all the craziness  that is seeing a hockey game in person .

What about if one of your teams is playing?

Let me show you.

1. My Boston  Bruins jersey that I brought from the Hockey Hall of  Fame Store in Toronto  oh so many years ago.

2. My black pants from The Rainbow  Shops in the United  States.

3. My sneakers and socks are from Payless  Shoe Stores in the United  States.

4. The rings and bracelets  are from Forever  21   and H&M.

5. The necklace  belonged  to  my late aunt and I  wear it all the time.

To complete my what to wear to a hockey  game  look, oh yeah, you’d  better  believe  I’m  going  all out.

My jacket has the colors of the team that I’m  rooting for.

Gold (yellow) on the inside and black on the outside .

It’s  not reversable ,  though.

On the front ,  there’s  the logo of the Boston  Bruins .

I’m  ready to  go .

Now THIS is what  to wear when you go to a hockey  game .
